About

Built of log planks around 1800, it is the oldest house on the island and a rare piece of architectural history. There is now a replica of its original wooden chimney. Listed on The National Register of Historic Places and Virginia Landmarks Register, a first for the island, it is a chance to stand in history and get a glimpse of how our past generations lived. Experience the mystery of the sailing ships carved on the exterior logs and the tragic story of young Jennie Hill murdered in 1885.
